Powerful Legacy Since the 1800’s

Since the 1800’s, Lewisville ISD has been serving students in and around the Denton County area. In 1877, funds were allocated for the first public school in Lewisville, forming what would later become Lewisville Independent School District. Since then, the students, staff and community of LISD have worked hard to instill multiple decade-long traditions into the great education we offer, including everything from sporting events, special end-of-year ceremonies, and more.

LISD is full of multi-generational families, with campuses serving students whose parents also attended LISD schools. We even have students taking classes from teachers their parents had. The long-standing traditions and special care our teachers have for their students create a legacy that will stay with them throughout their college years, and on into their adulthood.
