Proven Academic Excellence
Year after year, Lewisville ISD students continue to score high amongst their peers when it comes to STAAR testing, ACT and SAT tests, and a multitude of academic UIL competitions. In 2018, LISD students achieved higher STAAR testing scores than the state average in the “met expectations” category in all five subjects, including reading (83% vs. 74%), math (86% vs. 81%), writing (73% vs. 66%), science (85% vs. 80%) and social studies (84% vs. 77%).
In 2017, LISD students taking the ACT and SAT tests outscored students across the state, earning a composite ACT score of 24.4 versus the state average of 20.3 and a composite SAT score of 1159 versus the state average of 1019. Although the STAAR, ACT and SAT tests give us a good idea of how LISD students perform compared to others across the state, they don’t take into account the long list of academic awards and competitions thousands of our students earn and compete in every year.
